Do I need to know law already?
No. Begin with the Home / Start Here guide, try a quiz and use the dictionary. The goal is to develop reasoning, not arrive with every answer.
What is the difference between Challenge Season and Challenge Zone?
Challenge Season shows the longer case rounds and their dates. Challenge Zone contains quick practice activities. Practice badges are separate from scholarship judging.
Why can I see a case but not open it?
Upcoming cases have visible previews. The organizer must release the round, and its opening date must arrive, before the materials unlock.
How much time do I have?
The planned case format gives you six weeks to research and two weeks for final entries. Follow the exact dates on your case; all displayed program deadlines use Central Time.
Work, quizzes and submissions
Did you know? Saving is not submitting.
Save My Work keeps a draft. Mark Case Complete records learning progress. Submit Final Entry is the action that records an entry for the challenge, with a receipt.
Can I change my final entry?
You can resubmit during the case’s submission period. The latest entry replaces the earlier one until the deadline. Keep the most recent receipt and timestamp.
Can I disagree with the example or another student?
Yes. Explain your evidence and reasoning, address the strongest competing argument, and discuss ideas respectfully. Do not post personal information about real families.
Did you know? Missing information is worth identifying.
A strong analysis says what is unknown and explains how that information could change the conclusion. Do not invent a fact to fill a gap.
Can I retake a quiz?
Each published quiz allows one submitted attempt. Review your answers before submitting. Your score and receipt save to your account; a quiz is not automatically part of scholarship judging.
Where are Zoom meetings and recordings?
Open Live Sessions & Videos. Upcoming meetings have their joining links when posted. Approved replays appear below the sessions.
Scholarships
Does joining guarantee $1,000?
No. Each round currently has a $1,000 scholarship goal. A goal becomes a confirmed opportunity only when funding and official rules are posted. Attendance alone does not earn an award.
How will a winner be selected?
Read the confirmed rules for that case. They must explain eligible divisions, required work, judging criteria, tie-breaking, repeat-winner rules and payment terms. We will not treat practice badges or donations as a substitute for those rules.
Did you know? Donating does not improve your chances.
Donations support the program and do not influence scholarship selection.

The annual Washington, D.C. trip goal
What are you planning?
Our goal is an educational Washington, D.C. trip each year for two students who win a designated debate challenge.
Is a trip already booked or guaranteed?
No. We are developing the funding and program. Dates, the first travel year, itinerary and reservations have not been confirmed.
Who can win, and what expenses will be covered?
The official debate rules will specify student eligibility, judging, any division allocation, and whether repeat winners are allowed. We will also publish exactly what transportation, lodging, meals and activities are covered, and whether any costs remain for families.
What about students under 18?
Before travel is offered, the program will establish guardian consent, chaperones, emergency contacts, accessibility arrangements and supervision plans. Families will receive those details before deciding to participate.
What can students do now?
Practice making clear arguments, checking sources, answering counterarguments and listening respectfully. Watch the hub for the funded trip announcement and debate rules. Current participation does not reserve a seat.
