What Project JURIS collects
Project JURIS may collect information students or guardians provide during registration and participation, such as name, email address, school or college, school level, age category, guardian contact information when required, program interests, case work, reflections, discussion posts, and questions submitted for live sessions.
How information is used
Information is used to provide JURIS access, administer educational activities, moderate discussions, communicate about sessions and deadlines, verify scholarship eligibility when needed, protect program safety, and improve the student experience.
Scholarship verification
Finalists may be asked to provide proof of current enrollment and identity. Students should not post verification documents, identification numbers, private family information, or other sensitive records in public discussions. Any future document-upload feature must be limited to authorized program administrators and used only for the stated verification purpose.
Student work and discussions
Case work and private reflections are intended for the student and authorized program staff. Discussion posts may be visible to other enrolled students after moderation. Students should not include private identifying information about themselves, another student, or a real family in public posts.
Sharing
Project JURIS does not sell student personal information. Information may be processed by service providers used to operate the program, such as hosting, database, email, video, or scholarship-administration services, subject to their applicable terms and privacy practices. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect safety and program integrity.
Minors
Project JURIS is designed for high school and undergraduate students. Parent or guardian permission is required when indicated by the registration process. The program should not knowingly collect more information from minors than is reasonably necessary for participation.
Retention and requests
Project JURIS may retain participation records for program administration, scholarship verification, safety, legal compliance, and legitimate nonprofit recordkeeping. Students or guardians may contact the program to ask about access, correction, or deletion of information, subject to applicable recordkeeping obligations.
